Tymcoin Pharmacies has launched a 24-hour outlet in Odumase-Krobo, offering residents access to medications and pharmaceutical services beyond standard business hours.

The facility is located in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality and supports the government’s 24-Hour Economy Programme.

Dr Emmanuel Matey Philansmith, Chief Executive Officer of Tymcoin Pharmacies, said the initiative would extend essential health services and support round-the-clock economic activity.

He explained that the company’s decision reflected its commitment to supporting the programme at the local level, and that he believes in the agenda of John Mahama, which inspired him to open the 24-hour pharmacy.

Tymcoin Pharmacies operates branches in different parts of Ghana and is committed to bringing pharmaceutical services closer to residents, allowing them to obtain medicines at night and during other periods when most pharmacies are closed.

The government’s 24-Hour Economy Programme aims to increase productivity, create employment, and stimulate economic growth by encouraging businesses and institutions to operate beyond conventional hours.

The inauguration of the 24-hour pharmacy included a community health screening exercise that attracted over 2,000 participants, who were screened for hypertension, diabetes, malaria, typhoid fever, hepatitis, and other health conditions.

Dr Philansmith expressed concern about the findings, which showed some participants had blood pressure readings above healthy levels, with some reaching 200, and stressed the importance of regular health checks and early detection in managing medical conditions.

Tymcoin Pharmacies has pledged to continue supporting residents’ health needs by improving access to pharmaceutical services, and the facility adds to private-sector participation in extending essential services beyond conventional operating hours under the 24-Hour Economy Programme.
